Please talk to us before you book
Every Fluffy Bakehouse cake is made to order in a kitchen that handles food allergens.
If you, or anyone who will eat the cake, has a food allergy, intolerance or dietary requirement, tell us on the order form or by email at info@fluffybakehouse.com before your order is confirmed.
We will review what you tell us and let you know honestly whether we can accommodate it safely. Telling us about an allergy does not by itself mean the order has been accepted.
Allergen information for your cake
Because cakes are made individually, allergen information depends on the exact sponge, filling, frosting and decorations chosen.
We provide the allergen information relevant to your cake before your order is confirmed, so you can make an informed decision before paying a deposit.
If you would like ingredient details for a particular sponge or filling before you order, just ask.
The 14 regulated allergens
UK food law requires businesses to provide information about 14 allergens. These are listed below with plain-English examples.
Celery
Celery stalks, leaves, seeds and celeriac, including in stock and seasoning.
Cereals containing gluten
Wheat, rye, barley, oats and spelt — found in flour, sponge and biscuit crumb.
Crustaceans
Crab, lobster, prawns and scampi.
Eggs
Whole egg, egg white and egg powder — common in sponge and meringue.
Fish
Fish and ingredients made from fish, such as some sauces.
Lupin
Lupin seeds and lupin flour, occasionally used in baked goods.
Milk
Butter, cream, mascarpone, milk chocolate, ganache and buttercream.
Molluscs
Mussels, squid, oysters and snails.
Mustard
Mustard seed, powder, paste and mustard oil.
Peanuts
Peanuts, peanut butter, peanut oil and peanut praline.
Sesame
Sesame seeds, tahini and sesame oil.
Soya
Soya flour and soya lecithin, commonly found in chocolate.
Sulphur dioxide / sulphites
Preservatives used in some dried fruit, syrups and glacé fruit.
Tree nuts
Almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, pistachios, cashews, pecans, macadamia and Brazil nuts.
What our cakes typically contain
Most of our cakes contain cereals containing gluten (wheat), eggs and milk. Many fillings also contain soya (for example in chocolate), and some contain nuts, peanuts or sesame depending on the ingredients used.
We will always confirm the allergens for your specific cake rather than relying on this general description.

This table is a guide based on the ingredients we typically use. Allergen information for your specific cake is confirmed with you in writing before your order is accepted. Items marked “awaiting confirmation” have not yet been checked against current supplier ingredient lists — please email info@fluffybakehouse.com before ordering if you are relying on them.
Cross-contamination
Our cakes are made in a single kitchen where gluten, eggs, milk, soya and nuts are handled.
We take reasonable precautions, but we cannot guarantee that any cake is completely free from traces of an allergen handled in that environment.
For that reason we never describe a cake as allergen-free, allergy-safe or nut-free.
Serious allergies
If an allergy is severe, please contact us before booking so we can discuss it properly.
We would rather tell you honestly that we cannot safely accommodate a requirement than take a risk with your health.

Recipes and suppliers can change
Ingredients and suppliers occasionally change. Please tell us about allergies for every order, even if you have ordered from us before, so that we can check the current ingredients.
